Plan questions

Helpful details before you choose.

Open a question for a quick, straightforward answer.

What’s the difference between Annual and Preferred?

Annual includes one complete home safety visit each year. Preferred includes two visits, plus a personalized Home Safety Record, priority scheduling, discounted smoke and CO detectors, and seasonal recommendations.

What does battery replacement include?

During your visit, we identify alarms with replaceable batteries and replace batteries when applicable. We’ll also point out sealed 10-year alarms that are nearing the end of their service life.

Are replacement smoke and CO detectors included?

New detectors are not included in the standard plan price. Preferred members receive discounted smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when replacement is recommended.

What is the Preferred Home Safety Record?

It’s a personalized, easy-to-reference folder containing your alarm locations, detector ages and replacement dates, service history, safety recommendations, utility shutoff locations, and other important home-safety information. Detailed safety reports are also provided digitally after each visit.

Do I need to climb a ladder or prepare anything?

You don’t need to climb a ladder. We safely reach, test, and service your alarms; you simply provide access to the rooms and safety devices you’d like us to check.

What will I receive after the visit?

You’ll receive a clear digital safety report with what was checked, what we found, and any recommendations organized by priority.

Why First Due

Fire-service experience. Neighborly care.

First Due Home Safety was founded by Cody May, a firefighter with 16 years of fire-service experience.

I’ve seen firsthand how much working alarms and simple prevention matter. I bring that experience to every First Due visit, carefully checking your home’s safety equipment and explaining each finding in clear, straightforward terms.

My goal is simple: help you feel confident that your home is safer and your family is better prepared.

A little about me: When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, playing baseball, reading, and cheering on the Texas Rangers—Go Rangers!

Prevent. Protect. Peace of mind.
